We have several volunteer positions that need to be filled. Please read from the list below and if you or anyone that you know would be interested in these positions please call the RSVP office & let us know. We need your help to fulfill the needs of our community's agencies.
Newman University project: We are looking for volunteers that would enjoy working with the history and art of a local university. Newman has a great deal of beautiful artwork that it is very proud of and wants to share with the community. These volunteers would work at the university leading tours of the campus to present the collection of artwork. These volunteers would also catalog and inventory the artwork that Newman has in its possession.
Cloud Elementary -Sunshine Club project: We are looking for volunteers that would work at Cloud Elementary for an hour or so in the mornings doing fun and educational projects with the children. The program is to encourage attendance and promptness at school.
There are several other programs that we are looking to fill positions for. These are just two examples. Please call the RSVP office if you are interested in these or other volunteer opportunities.
RSVP - Retired and Senior Volunteer Program
RSVP links adults 55 years and older with volunteer opportunities in their community.
Volunteers help improve the quality of life in the community by helping community organizations maintain and enhance services. As a volunteer you benefit also:

RSVP Volunteer Opportunities:
- Shopping for Seniors; County-wide service does grocery shopping for homebound
elders weekly.
Freezer Meals; Nutritious meals prepared by volunteers are sealed and frozen.
Orders are taken weekly from homebound elders who live in areas not served
by Meals on Wheels or Good Neighbor Nutrition Program.
bullet Commodities; Volunteers bring commodities from United Methodist Urban
Ministries to two cities in Butler County monthly. Volunteers repack the
food and help distribute the boxes to elderly persons and young children throughout Butler County.
bullet Meals on Wheels; Volunteers help deliver meals in the cities of Augusta and
El Dorado.
bullet Other volunteer opportunities; Friendly Visitors, Phone Pals, Drivers for Doctor's
appointments and medical treatments, help with preparation of applications, helpers for programs at nursing homes – such as bingo callers, craft teachers, and
musicians, and many, many opportunities too numerous to list.

- Volunteer Drivers - make delivery's & pick-ups from home bound volunteers; make delivery's & pick up's from various RSVP sites; driver for volunteers that are not able to drive
- Friendly Callers
- Clerical work - answering phones, filing, greeting customers/clients
- Child Care Providers/mentors - provides child care for various non-profit agencies while the parent is receiving services or training
- Animal Lovers- work with the animals & educate the people from the humane society
- Light Maintenance Volunteers - help older people in the community with light maintenance around their homes.
- Yard Work Volunteers - help older people in the community with light yard work.
- "Professionals" - business people, doctors, lawyers, accountants etc. etc. etc. to help the older people with their needs, but also to educate/mentor younger people as well.
- Companions - for older people as well as mentally or physically disabled people.
