Sedgwick County Transportation Brokerage (SCTB) provides specialized transportation to eligible customers: - Older adults and their caregivers
- Persons with physical disabilities
- Medicaid recipients
- And others
Applicants must be 60 years of age or older. Services are limited to funding availability. SCTB does not provide emergency transportation, transportation to nursing home residents, or rural origination to rural destination transportation. SCTB is a resource for information on all transportation services provided in the area and makes referrals. Federal, state and local funding sources subsidize rides to make transportation affordable. Customer co-payment is $3.00 one-way. No refunds are provided. |
VendorsSCTB provides some service directly in rural Sedgwick County , and contracts remaining service with seven vendors to provide transportation in Wichita and rural Sedgwick County . These vendors include First Class Transportation, ABC Taxi Cab, Timber Lines, Thunder Enterprises, American Cab, Wisdom Travels and KETCH. Vehicles include sedans, taxi cabs, and wheelchair accessible minivans and buses. |

Application ProcessThe SCTB application gathers information necessary to determine program eligibility, appropriate funding source(s), and special needs. An individual must be determined eligible prior to service. Information provided in the application is kept strictly confidential. To obtain an application, call (316) 660-5150 or 1-800-367-7298, or click on the link below. Once an individual is determined eligible, SCTB sends a confirmation letter indicating eligible funding sources, co-payment information and how to purchase a ride card. Ride CardsA ride card is required for service. Ride cards may be purchased in any number of increments. |

AttendantAn attendant who provides physical assistance to the rider may accompany the rider at no additional charge. An attendant must be at least 16 years of age or older. PackagesCarry-on packages are limited to a total of 5 packages/bags. Drivers may help a rider carry packages from the door and on/off the vehicle. |

No Show PolicyA “no show” is when SCTB makes a scheduled pick-up and the rider: - is not at the designated site, or
- refuses the ride, or
- does not call to cancel the ride within one hour of the scheduled pick-up time.
“No shows” are subject to up to a $12 fee billed to the rider. If two or more “no shows” occur, service is suspended for 30 calendar days. At the end of the 30 day period, services may be reinstated and will be subject to the same 2 “no shows” policy. Circumstances which are exceptions to this policy and do NOT count as “no shows” include: - Customer called SCTB to cancel the ride but the vendor providing the ride did not get the message.
- The vendor providing the ride was over 30 minutes late for the scheduled pick-up time.
- Customer could not call to cancel the ride due to an emergency situation.

- Pick up is available in Augusta, Andover and El Dorado five days per week
- Pick up is avaiable in Rose Hill two days per week
- Nominal fee required from riders
Fares -- 50 cents per stop in town
- $ 4.00 one-way into Wichita
