Sedgwick County Transportation (SCT) is to provide safe, accessible and affordable transportation to eligible Sedgwick County citizens to help maintain their mobility.
SCT provides specialized transportation to eligible customers:
- Older adults and their caregivers
- Persons with physical disabilities
- And others of all ages
Applicants must be six years of age or older. Riders under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Services are limited to funding availability. SCT does not provide emergency transportation, transportation to nursing home residents, or rural origination to rural destination transportation.
SCT is a resource for information on all transportation services in the area and makes referrals. SCT developed a guide that provides helpful information for those who drive and those who do not in order to maintain their community mobility.
Community Mobility Guide
Federal, state and local funding sources subsidize rides to make transportation affordable. SCT provides direct service (pictured above) as well as contracted transportation services through vendors.
Vendors that SCT contracts with include: ABC Taxi, American Cab, First Class, KETCH, Thunder Enterprises, Timber Lines, Rita’s Rides and Wisdom Travels. Vehicles include sedans, taxi cabs, and wheelchair accessible minivans and buses.

I’m not able to drive because I’m legally blind. I live in Sedgwick and my brother lives 30 miles away in Wichita and works so he can’t help me with transportation. Without your service I’d be stuck and couldn’t get where I need to go. I need it to get to medical appointments, the eye doctor, grocery store, Social Security office and other places. I need this service to maintain life and I don’t know what I’d do without it. The service is low cost, prompt, has clean vehicles and the drivers are friendly and helpful.
