Medicare Assistance
Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansas (SHICK)
What is SHICK?
SHICK is the Senior Health Insurance Counseling program in Kansas. This is a federal grant funded program under the U.S. Administration for Community Living (ACL). SHICK offers Medicare education and information to Medicare beneficiaries via one-on-one counseling or group setting.
Trained counselors are available throughout the state to assist people in staying informed on changing conditions in health care insurance and to cut through the confusion.
SHICK counseling is free, unbiased, confidential and available to anyone with questions about Medicare.
Our trained SHICK counselors are here to guide Medicare beneficiaries and their loved ones with individual assistance in explaining Medicare enrollment, or learning about Medicare plans, Supplemental Insurance policies and other health insurance options so individuals can make informed choices.
Our counselors do not work for any insurance company. The goal is to educate and assist the public to make informed decisions on what's best for them.
To schedule an appointment or learn more about SHICK, call CPAAA at 800-367-7298 or 316-660-5120 or email info-sc@cpaaa.org. Our office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm CST (excluding holidays).
